Aero swing seat – Comfort inspired by Aeronautics
A modern design and style of swing seat unlike any other. Made from truly beautiful English Oak with elements of stainless steel, providing a stunning contrast between the two materials.
The Aero swing seat is made up of a sequence of elliptically shaped seat slats. Each slats design being based on the aerofoil shape of an aircrafts wing. The alternating seat slats form both the seat and back of the swing, all tied together with brightly polished stainless steel tubing. The length of each slat has been carefully thought about to ensure the swing is comfortable to relax on. Each aerofoil slat is hand crafted from English oak. The colour of the oak provides a stunning contrast with the polished stainless steel, creating a truly modern style of seat when compared to our more traditionally styled seats.
Aero is hung from very fine, yet strong stainless steel wire. The wire almost seems to disappear into the background when you look at the seat, making it look as if it is floating or hovering just above the ground. The slender arms of the seat are supported on top of stainless steel tubing, matching the frame of the seat.
The Aero A-frame
Aero can be supplied with or without an A-frame. If you have a tree or suitable structure to hang the seat from then there is no need for an A-frame. However for those without such a suitable option, we have created the perfect solution. Aero’s A-frame is also very modern and stylish. The top beam is curved, slender in the centre and then widens out towards each end, providing support for the legs. The legs too are unique, with the front pair being made up from both oak and stainless components.
Aero is currently available in two different sizes, 2 seater and 3 seater. Bespoke sizes are available on request.
Hanging width between the wires:
2 seater: 1300mm 3 seater: 1700mm
Aero A-frame footprint:
2 seater: 2500 x 1800mm 3 seater: 2950 x 1800mm
Aero can be finished in 3 different way, left bare sanded to weather naturally, Danish oiled, or satin varnished. Leaving the swing to weather naturally will eventually turn the oak a beautiful shade of silvery grey. Oak is very durable and doesn’t have to have a finish applied like timber like pine may. Danish oil will protect the colour of the timber, it will also help keep the swing protected from the elements. Satin varnish is the final option, similar to Danish oil but slightly more durable.
